ACTRA are putting on a navigation workshop to help rogainers gain or improve their skills in map and compass work. The Workshop will be held over the whole weekend including Saturday evening. The workshop will be broken into practical sessions on Saturday morning, Saturday evening (dark) and Sunday morning. A equipment and course planning theory session will be held on Saturday afternoon. Sunday afternoon will be a mini-rogaine to put into practice what you have learned.
Workshop entries will be limited to approximately 40 people. We are relying on the generousity of our more experienced rogainers volunteering their time to teach at the workshop. Partipants will be divided into small groups with an experienced coach, based on responses to the questionnaire about experience and speed. All activities, both practical and theory, have been designed for novices through to experienced rogainers and will be tailored for individual groups. We welcome people of all skill levels who intend to start or continue rogaining to come along. This course is targetted at general rogaining participants and does not provide for general bushwalking navigation skills.
