After a chilly start, we had a glorious day for the Tuggeranong Hills and Playgrounds Metrogaine. About 300 competitors chose to explore the southern suburbs of Canberra and take in the beautiful Brindabella views.
Big congratulations to Oscar Brown who took out the event, very nearly clearing the course. David Baldwin was second, with Braedy Jaugietis third. Check out the full results below. Congratulations to all other placegetters.
The Tuggeranong Homestead was a wonderful Hash Hash location - full of rustic charm, but most importantly delicious home made food at the finish. The soup got rave reviews and the pork bao buns were definitely a rogaine first! The wide selection of homemade cakes also went down a treat.
Big thanks to all the volunteers who helped put on the event - from setters, control hangers, map makers, team admin, parking, tag cutters, pack up and control collectors ... plus so much more. Without the volunteers these events just don't happen!

A big thank you to Jon Glanville for another superb virtual rogaine, this time around the lake and hills of Tuggeranong and Kambah. Jon found lots of hidden gems with sculptures, artwork, interesting rocks, great views and a course that went close to a few cafes. All of these temptations did not slow down our fastest rogainers with six people getting around the whole course in less than four hours.
Our overall winner was TIM COCHRANE. Tim had three runs around the course.
Notible category winners were second placed Mens Youth Oscar Brown, Craig Wisdom winning the Mens Vets, Supervets and Ultravets, Alex Thorman, Charles Bootes and Cecilia Pascoe as the first mixed team, Eloise Wilson and Amber Thomas first womens team, Elizabeth Dunbar and Valerie Barker winning the Womens Vets, Supervets and Ultravets and Craig, Archie, Kerrie and Zahlia Cowan the first family team.
There were 81 finishers of the virtual rogaine and a few other people who did not officially enter. There were a few people like TIm and Liz Widdicombe who came back for two or three times.
See the web page for all results.
It's not too late to enjoy this course or any of the other virtual rogaines that have been held ovee the last few years. All the maps, notes and other instructions are on the Virtual Rogaines web page.
The Champs rogaine 20-21st April.
Nearly 300 people came and enjoyed the course, the moon, the open terrain and some great company for Barkley's birthday. The mixed teams and overall winners of the 24 hour event were Elise Palethorpe and Ryan Stocks closely followed by Julie Quinn and David Baldwin. Andrew Slattery and Monika Lee were very clear winners of the 8 hour event. There were also some impressive family teams in the 24 hour dominated by the Mottershead/Elson family and there were 5 family teams in the 8 hour event. Check out the photos in the gallery HERE.
A huge thank you to the 10 landowners that gave us permission to use their properties, especially Lyn and Lucky for looking after us with the HH area. Also many thanks to all those that volunteered for setting, vetting, admin, first aid AND the catering.
