Rogaine Catering - we need help!

Welcome back to rogaining for another year!
The first event this year is the annual twilight 3 hour rogaine on 17 February at Stromlo Forest Park. An evening wander around the trails and grassy areas of our nature park is always pleasant and our setters have found all sorts of interesting control locations. Gaiters or long pants are recommended as the grass is long and full of seeds in places, particularly on the eastern side of the mountain.
The event will start by mass start 6pm.
The cost of entry is $33 for adults and $27 for concession. Under 14s are free! Entries close midnight Wednesday 14 February but sign up through the event page before Monday 12 February to avoid the late fee!
The HH will be at the Event HQ at Stromlo Forest Park adjacent to the criterium track. Also note that paid parking is now in effect for parking at Stromlo.
Slap-Up in Gourock: Saturday 28th October 2023
Starting at 11am
This year’s spring rogaine is in the headwaters of the Queanbeyan and Bredbo rivers, covering Gourock National Park and adjacent private property. It’s a special area of high country (up to 1,400m) surrounded by old mature forests. Fantastic granite country. There are the usual 6 hour or 12 hour options, with the HH on the Slapup farm. Make a weekend of it and stay overnight (grassy camping) and help collect controls the next day!
It takes about 1hr40mins to drive from Canberra. The Hartley Life Care team will be there to give you the best Slapup rogaine meal and breakfast.

Slap Up at the Gourock Gambol
Well done to all the teams who gambolled in wonderful spring weather around the headwaters of the Queanbeyan River. The overall winners in the 6 hour were Holly Ashburner, Tom Fitzgerald and Kelvin Peh who scored about half the number of points of the overall winners in the 12 hour (Xanda Kolesnikow and Ivan Koudashev). Family teams were well represented – nine in the 6 hour event with Sam, Nellie, Sofiya, Millie and Lawrence winning the category. Leanne and Ross Wilkinson scored very well in the 12 hour family category.
Lots of teams saw snakes (brown, copperhead, tiger and black) as well as less scary wombats, wallabies, echidnas and many water birds. The organisers noted one team with rogaine flag painted fingernails and another team that forgot to turn their engine off before heading out on the course. Luckily the door was open! We hope numberplate ERY… got home ok.

Many thanks to all the volunteers and the landowners for making this event happen.
Perfect weather for the Night/Day Rogaine and a return of rogaining to Orroral Valley for the first time since the 2020 bushfires.
Preliminary results are now available.
