Course Description

The 2008 Metrogaine will be held in the Tuggeranong Valley. This expansive course takes in the southern suburbs and surrounding open bushland, and promises to challenge newcomers and experienced rogainers alike. Relief ranges from approximately 600m to 800m with more elevated parts of the course providing panoramic views of the suburbs and surrounding mountains. The hash house will be centrally located allowing a variety of routes out and back. The A3 map is pre-marked at 1:25,000 scale. At most controls you will need to answer a multiple choice question. Bushland controls will be marked by standard orange and white flags with card punch. 'Navlight' will not be used for this event. Come along, bring a friend and enjoy a great day out!

Course Description

This year's ACT Championships is located less than an hour's drive east of Canberra in the Tallaganda National Park. Come and 'take a gander at Tallaganda'.

The area is mostly native forest, with a diversity of terrain from lovely open ferny gullies to more challenging granite boulder country. The course is crossed by an old convict built road, several fire trails, wallaby tracks and lots of lyre bird mounds. Relief ranges from 800m to 1,200m with 1,264m Mt Palerang dominating the landscape.

The course will not be fast, but nor is it super difficult. The setters have avoided the worse that Tallaganda can offer for those familiar with the area.

The area for parking is limited so please consider car sharing with other teams - as well as saving greenhouse gases and petrol costs. If you need a lift to the event, you can use the 'carpool finding' site. Camping at the Hash House will be available at no cost.

Access to the HH site might be a challenge for very low slung two wheel drive cars, in which case alternate camping is available approx 800m from HH.

Course Description

Located in Mogo State Forest, home of the "Angry Doctor" Netti MTB Enduro. Your chance to choose your own adventure in this great riding area with lots of fire trails, trail bike and sweet MTB singletrack. Open forest makes for pleasant travel off the tracks.

Map is 1:25000 topo. Altitude varies between 30 - 150m, with a few steep pinches.

Controls are generally off the tracks, but less than 300m usually. Teams can compete on foot or bikes.

Course Description

The 2008 ACT Paddy Pallin rogaine will be held near Oallen Ford.

Oallen Ford is on the beautiful Shoalhaven river just before it enters a major gorge. The course will be mostly open forest country with some open pasture. Much of the area should be fairly fast, with the occasional area of slower going. The terrain is generally undulating hills without significant areas of relief, but with some erosion gully detail. Map scale will be 1:25000.

The area is about 100 minutes east of central Canberra and within easy reach of Sydney, Southern Highlands and Wollongong, lying around 45 minutes drive south of Bungonia.

Unfortunately, no camping is available at the event site. For people coming from Sydney the best option is probably the Bungonia campground, about 40 minutes north of Tarago on the back road which leaves the Hume Highway about 4km on the Goulburn side of Marulan.

Paddy Pallin events are ideal for those wanting to try rogaining for the first time, as well as providing competitive challenges for the more experienced.
